Hatched (U.S. release) and Singular (Brazil release) are the same project, launched in different years. The album features a repertoire mostly made up of songs by new voices in contemporary pop — like Hozier, Lorde, and Mumford & Sons — reimagined by Badi Assad with a Brazilian flavor. To her, these artists represent a return to philosophical depth in pop music.

This work earned Badi the APCA Award (São Paulo Association of Art Critics) for Best Composer of the Year, and her song "Pega no Coco" won first place in the World Music category at the USA International Songwriting Competition.
