An original album conceived and recorded live in the studio over just five days, in partnership with Afro-Minas artist Sérgio Pererê, with whom Badi co-wrote every track. The album celebrates the rich Afro-Minas culture and draws inspiration from the ancient traditions of Congado, capturing the essence and intensity of this unique creative process.

Volta ao mundo com Convidados

Badi Assad – “Volta ao Mundo com Convidados” – A project carried out during the pandemic, sponsored by the São Paulo State Cultural Incentive Law (PROAC). The work features five songs, each performed in collaboration with a special guest: Lívia Mattos (Sardinia Memories, by Geoffrey Oryema), Carlinhos Antunes (Mungu, by Lokua Kanza), Marcelo Pretto (Pra Onde Vai Valente?, by Manezinho Araújo), Swami Jr. (Drume Negrita, by Ernesto Grenet), and Fernandinho Beatbox (Ultraleve, by Badi Assad).

Wonderland

Wonderland features an eclectic repertoire, bringing together songs by artists from different generations and styles, such as American singer Tori Amos and samba master Cartola, resulting in a unique and contemporary sound. With striking interpretations and creative arrangements, the album showcases Badi Assad's versatility as a vocalist, guitarist, and performer. One of the highlights is the track "Vacilão" (Zé Roberto), which includes a special appearance by singer Seu Jorge. Internationally acclaimed, Wonderland was selected by BBC London as one of the 100 best albums of the year and made it into Amazon.com's Top 30 list.

Three Guitars

Collaborating with legendary guitarists Larry Coryell and John Abercrombie, Badi Assad presents a refined fusion of jazz and Brazilian music, with sophisticated arrangements and sensitive interpretations. Recorded after her process of overcoming Focal Dystonia—a neurological condition that temporarily took her off the stage—the album marks her return to full artistic activity.
