Waves

An album dedicated to Brazilian music, exploring the boundaries between classical and popular genres. It includes works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Hermeto Pascoal, and original compositions by Sérgio Assad, reflecting the richness and complexity of Brazil's musical tradition. According to Sérgio, it's a type of music that defies categorization — 'some call it jazz, others call it avant-garde, but in Brazil we simply call it popular music.'

Hatched / Singular

Hatched (U.S. release) and Singular (Brazil release) are the same project, launched in different years. The album features a repertoire mostly made up of songs by new voices in contemporary pop — like Hozier, Lorde, and Mumford & Sons — reimagined by Badi Assad with a Brazilian flavor. To her, these artists represent a return to philosophical depth in pop music.

Ópera das Pedras

A live album capturing the soundtrack of the multimedia show Ópera das Pedras (Opera of Stones), created by artist Denise Milan and co-directed by Lee Breuer of the New York-based group Mabou Mines. The project blends music, theater, and visual arts in a poetic reflection on the relationship between humanity and nature. This album preserves the show's symbolic power and philosophical depth. Badi Assad plays the role of Agrégora, giving voice to compositions by André Mehmari, Clarice Assad, Marco Antônio Guimarães, Naná Vasconcelos, Carlinhos Antunes, and herself. Recorded live at Teatro do SESC Ipiranga.
